Stempad is a Y Combinator backed (S24) startup changing scientific writing by making as fast as pen and paper and integrating AI. Our mission is to transform how students, scientists, and technical professionals communicate their ideas.

The Role

As our founding engineer, you'll work directly with the founder to build and scale Stempad's core product. You'll have significant input into technical decisions and help shape our engineering culture from the ground up.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with React and Next.js
• Ability to work autonomously and make product decisions
• Track record of shipping high-quality software quickly
• Backend development experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with rich text editors (Slate, Lexical, ProseMirror)
• Strong product and design sensibilities
• Early-stage startup experience
